📖 The Story Behind the Name FanCollex

FanCollex is the result of a necessary rebirth.
Originally launched as Splink, our company was built on a deep love for sport, a desire to innovate, and the belief that fans deserve more than generic merchandise — they deserve something real, meaningful, and official.
During the early years as Splink, we laid the foundations for what would become a new way of experiencing sports collectibles. But soon, we realized it was time to evolve, to grow, and to reflect the global ambition we had developed.
That’s when FanCollex was born — a new name, a new identity, with the same team, the same purpose, and even greater vision.
It all started with true passion
Our CEO and Co-Founder, Ivan Braz, alongside co-founders Dulce Guarda and Hugo Matinho, have always shared a deep connection with sport. Ivan, in particular, is a lifelong football fan and collector — with a personal archive of over 600 football shirts from clubs around the world.
But over time, something changed.
The emotional connection between clubs and fans started to fade.
Gone were the open training sessions, the moments of closeness, the feeling that fans were part of the club’s heartbeat. Football became more distant — more commercial, less human.
Ivan saw this shift and asked a simple question:
What if we could bring back that feeling, in a way that speaks to fans today?


The birth of MyJersey
Our first product — created under the Splink name — was the MyJersey:
a premium miniature replica of the actual match jersey (not the fan version), crafted with attention to detail and respect for the club’s history and design.
We launched three core versions:
•With player name and number (sometimes with digital signature),
•No name, for fans who value just the crest,
•Retro & Legend editions, recreating iconic historical shirts.
Our goal was simple: to offer fans an accessible, high-quality collectible that didn’t yet exist in the market.
From Splink to FanCollex: A new era begins
Splink was the beginning.
FanCollex is the restart. It’s the name that will carry us further.
We wanted to go beyond physical products.
We integrated:
•NFC chips to certify each item and prepare for the secondary market;
•Augmented Reality to unlock digital experiences and deeper engagement.
This is what we call Collectibles 3.0 — physical, digital, and alive.
Where we’re headed
We know that securing licenses from clubs and national teams isn’t always easy.
But we believe all fans — not just those of Tier 1 clubs — deserve to see their team represented.
That’s why we’re building a catalogue that includes not only the world’s giants, but also beloved regional teams with deep emotional ties to their communities.

Created after years of experience with Splink, FanCollex represents evolution — more mature, more global, and more ambitious. It answers a powerful question:
“What if collectibles were no longer just objects, but gateways to experiences?”
The FanCollex identity is:
